Elias o Profeta do Fogo

Era simples em sua aparência e no vestir, era como um protótipo de João Batista Mateus 3:4.

Fatos Marcantes de Elias:

Sua primeira aparição foi diante do idolatra rei Acabe anunciando uma prolongada seca. 1 Rs 17:1.
No deserto de Querite, por ordem Divina foi sustentado por corvos. 1Rs 17:2-6. Onde sua fé foi provada ao secar-se o ribeiro.
Em Sarepta cidade castigada pela fome, Elias encontra com uma viúva, e ele pedi água e pão, mas a viúva diz que só tem um punhado de farinha e um pouco de azeite. Então Elias diz '' Não temas '' a promessa de abundancia ate que passe a fome na cidade. Elais com grande esforço em oração trás de volta a vida o filho da viúva 1 Rs 17: 8-24.
Elias ordena ao rei Acabe que convoque os falsos profetas no monte Carmelo assim desafiando os profetas de Baal. Após o fracasso dos falsos profetas, Elias fez uma oração e o Senhor nosso Deus enviou fogo consumindo assim o sacrifício 1 Rs 18: 17-40 .
A oração de Elias traz chuva, e termina a seca 1 Rs 18: 41-46 .
Elais debaixo de um Zimbro no deserto, apos fugir da rainha Jezabel. Desanimado e exausto deseja morrer, mas um anjo o alimenta para que ele continue o caminho ate o monte Horebe. O Senhor ordena a Elias que ele unja dois possíveis reis e a seu sucessor. 1Rs 19: 1-21 .
Em Abel-Meolá Elias encontra Eliseu orando e coloca sobre ele o seu manto indicando que estava sendo chamado para ser o sucessor de Elias.
Na vinha de Nabote Elias pronuncia a sentença sobre Acabe e sua esposa Jezabel. 1 Rs 19: 19- 2 Rs 1: 1-12
Elias faz a sua última viajem a companhado por Eliseu, Elias golpeia as aguas do rio Jordão com seu manto e ambos cruzam o rio em terra seca.
Após Eliseu formula seu pedido, Elias em um carro de fogo com cavalos de fogo subiu ao céu num redemoinho. 2 Rs 2: 1-11 .
No Monte da Transfiguração Elias reaparece com Moisés e conversa com Cristo. Mt 17:3.

Elijah the Fire Prophet

He was simple in appearance and clothing; He was a prototype of John the Baptist.
Matthew 3:4.

Milestones of Elijah:

His first appearance was before the idolatrous King Ahab announcing a prolonged drought. 1 Kings 17:1.
In the desert of Cherith, by divine order he was fed by ravens. 1 Kings 17:2-6. Where his faith was tested by the drying up the brook.
In Zarephath town burdened by hunger, Elijah meets a widow, and he asked for water and bread, but the widow says she only has a handful of meal and a little olive oil. Elijah says ''Fear not'' and promises abundance until it passes the famine in the city. Elijah with great effort in prayer revived the widow's son 1 Kings 17: 8-24.
Elijah commanded Ahab the king to convene the false prophets on Mount Carmel, there he challenges the prophets of Baal. After the failure of false prophets, Elijah offered a prayer and the Lord our God sent fire consuming completely the sacrifice 1 Kings 18: 17-40.
The prayer of Elijah brings rain again, the drought ends 1 Kings 18: 41-46.
Elijah after escaping from the Queen Jezebel, he sat under a juniper tree in the desert. He is discouraged and exhausted and requested for himself that he might die, but an angel comes and feed him and commands him to continue his journey to Horeb the mount of God. The Lord commanded Elijah to anoint two possible kings of Israel and his successor. 1 Kings 19: 1-21.
In Abelmeholah Elijah found Elisha praying, and he cast his mantle upon him indicating that Elisha had been called to be the successor of Elijah.
In the vineyard of Naboth Elijah pronounces Ahab and his wife Jezebel sentence. 1 Kings 19: 19 - 2 Kings 1: 1-12
Elijah makes his last trip with Elisha, Elijah smotes the waters of the Jordan River with his mantle and they both cross the river on dry land.
After that Elisha says what he whishes, Elijah, in a chariot of fire and horses of fire, went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 2 Kings 2: 1-11.
On the Mount of Transfiguration Moses and Elijah reappear talking with Jesus Christ. Mathew 17:3.
